Who could have guessed that this used to be a mountain of garbage? Haneul Park is one out of the four parks at World Cup Park and is one of the most visited parks in Seoul by locals and tourists, for obvious reasons. For one, Haneul Park, unlike all the other parks and gardens in Korea, is not situated on ground floor, hence its name “Haneul” which means “sky” in Korean.
To get to Haneul Park, you have to climb its famous 291 steps staircase which weaves up to the top. No to climbing? Fret not! Those with baby strollers, those who do not want to climb, grandpas and grandmas, you can opt to take its electric shuttle from the parking lot at ₩3,000 for adults and ₩2,000 for children for a round trip. Heads up, the queue for the electric shuttle can be crazy during the weekends though.
It’s a whole new view of Seoul’s landscape up there. The lookouts from Haneul Park are nothing but amazing – breathtaking views of the Han River, Bukhansan as well as N Seoul Tower. But the views of the park itself in Autumn are not to be taken lightly. The park turns into a gigantic garden of silver during Autumn. Imagine a big field of eulalia, also known as silver grass, swaying in the wind… getting lost in a field of silver grass could be a somewhat calming and therapeutic experience for one. #🌾🌾🌾

Green lush silver grass usually starts to change its colours in early November. If you can, try to catch the sunrise or sunset views at Haneul Park! On days of good weather, you will find a glittery field of silver swaying in the wind!
Directions to Haneul Park
From World Cup Stadium Station (Line 5) Exit 1, go straight and around the stadium, passing by Homeplus. Walk out to the main road, straight down the path until you reach a four-way intersection. Haneul Park is just diagonally opposite!
